On April 14, 2021, a pro-Al-Qaeda group released the second issue of its magazine, which included several articles inciting its supporters who live in Western countries to exploit civil unrest to carry out lone wolf attacks.

On April 15, 2021, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Afghan Taliban organization) threatened America that its jihadi fighters will "take every necessary countermeasure" after the U.S. President Joe Biden announced that American troops will not be withdrawn by May 1, as is required under the Doha agreement signed between the U.S. and the Taliban organization on February 29, 2020.

Former mujahideen leader and former Afghan prime minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, who joined the peace process in Afghanistan but continues to take a pro-Taliban position, has started trying "to unite former jihadis and the Taliban," according to an Urdu daily.
