Thirty-one-year-old Syrian refugee Abdalmasih Hanoun injured six people in a stabbing attack on June 8, 2023 in a park in Annecy, France. The targets included four toddlers. As of the time of this writing, a two-year-old girl from the Netherlands, who was stabbed three times, is still being treated in a hospital in Geneva. The adults have reportedly recovered. Hanoun has refugee status in Sweden, where his former wife and three-year-old child live and where he had lived for ten years. He requested asylum in France shortly after arriving in October 2022. In his asylum application, he declared himself a "Christian from Syria." As he had already been granted refugee status in Sweden, he request was denied by the French authorities on June 4, four days before the attack. Previously unknown to the police, Hanoun was wearing a cross during the attack and reportedly gave no explanation for his actions.

In a march in support of the attack victims, organized in Annecy on the same evening, French ultranationalist and fascist groups took part. Inside and outside France, ultranationalists and fascists further reacted to the attack on social media. The full report provides a sample of reactions from France, Italy and Spain-based fascists and white supremacists.
