October 26, 2023

Following Hamas's October 7, 2023 surprise attack against Israel, neo-Nazis and white supremacists around the world have praised Hamas while condemning Israel. Extremists have praised Hamas for its killing of Jews, viewing Hamas as a useful organization with a common goal. Others have asserted that international media have been spreading lies about Hamas as part of "atrocity propaganda."

This is Part Two of a series on neo-Nazi and white supremacist reactions to, and support for, Hamas following its October 7, 2023 launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. Part One of MEMRI's reporting, "Following Hamas Attacks On Israel, Neo-Nazis And White Supremacists Praise Hamas, Celebrate Deaths Of Jews," can be found here.[1]

The following report highlights neo-Nazi and white supremacist reactions on social media outlets to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, including Telegram, Gab, and X (formerly Twitter).

In The U.S., Neo-Nazis And White Supremacists Adopt Hamas Calls For Violence And Explicitly Endorse Terrorism

On October 11, 2023, Hamas called for a "Global Day of Jihad," calling on its supporters to conduct acts of violence on Friday, October 13. Multiple neo-Nazi and white supremacist accounts adopted the call. On October 12, 2023, a neo-Nazi posted an image to X of a soldier in a skull mask with a text reading: "When the local language is violence, be fluent." The remainder of the post reads, "Say when haji." Similarly, another neo-Nazi posted a GIF to X on the same day of a soldier in a Crusader costume racking a shotgun with the words, "GM. Happy Day of Jihad!"

Other neo-Nazi accounts promoted violence. On October 12, an eco-accelerationist channel forwarded a Telegram post with images of Hamas terrorists. The channel wrote: "Guerrillas are much more powerful than any single soldier will ever be. He is loyal to his ideals, and thus more determined than typical soldiers who were in most cases drafted and forced to fight that will leave not leave a single legacy. He cannot be stopped by conventional means, because unlike typical soldiers, the guerrilla is like a ghost. He acts suddenly and without any warning. His Purpose is to Kill and to be Killed. As the morales of IDF soldiers weaken under the pressure of HAMAS, the hatred and rage continues to fuel the mujahideen, who are willing to fight against those who have oppressed them for so long. This is not merely a job, but a lifelong purpose to strive for. The guerrilla is determined to fight against their opponents until total victory or death. THERE IS NO SOLUTION LEFT BUT VIOLENCE AND TERROR."

Explicit endorsement of terrorism was also observed on a neo-Nazi Telegram channel which on October 12, forwarded a post. It stated: "Needless to say, [this channel] stands with Terrorism and wholeheartedly backs Hamas in their TKD crusade. You know, hating kikes isn't the only thing we have in common with them. Their culture rightly venerates and glorifies Men of Action. They celebrate their attacks and name parks, roads and schools after the attackers. Sound familiar? We aren't in a position to do the latter just yet, but this will change when we take power. For them, Martyrdom (equivalent to Our Sainthood) through lone wolf attacks is the greatest goal a man can achieve. And raising Martyrs is the greatest goal a woman can achieve. The bloodshed we are witnessing (and thoroughly enjoying) today isn't sporadic – it was planned and coordinated carefully between a lot of people over a long period of time, without traitors compromising them or derads subverting them. Piles of dead jews are the fruits of a radical, Action-centered culture. By planting the same seeds among those in our own Struggle today, it will be possible to cultivate the same glorious results when the time is right. HAIL HAMAS, HAIL TOTAL KIKE DEATH."

An accelerationist blog praised the fighters in the Gaza Strip and held them up as an example to be emulated. Indeed, on October 14, on their Telegram channel the group published a post about Gaza reading: "Gaza itself is a good case study on how to run a racialist enclave that is under constant attack by a jewish occupied government. Half the population of Gaza is under 18. Reason is, there is a cultural idea there that for every Arab they kill, they birth out another. There is a racial dedication in Gaza to oppose jewish rule. Gaza itself shows how a ragtag insurgent group can hold major areas against a modern military (the IDF is on par with the US Military). The IDF itself is still dragging their feet on entering Gaza as Gaza would be on par with Stalingrad in causalities according to the IDF themselves and they'll have to fight for every building and block one by one. It's only a shame that the White racialist movement isn't as dedicated as these Arabs."

The group have shared to their Telegram channel instructional videos on how to manufacture rockets similar to those used by Hamas. On October 18, they posted to their Telegram channel a video on how Hamas constructs Qassam rockets. The post reads, "Step-by-Step process on how Hamas makes their Qassam Rockets which cost between $300-$600 to make per rocket. What's not included is a recent discovery by Hamas that mixing WD-40 and Aluminum with the paint they put on the rockets makes it harder for radar to detect." In a subsequent post on October 18, the channel shared a video on how to make shaped charges and wrote: "For another similar video except this one is a VHS how-to by Ragnar Benson on how to make shaped charges."
