Hussam Ayloush, director of Council of American-Islamic Affairs (CAIR) LA spoke about the importance of Muslims in America engaging in politics in a San Diego-area mosque on March 1, 2024. He described how to garner support from local politicians. Ayloush continued to state that the "genocide in Palestine" is an American genocide and a Biden genocide. He claimed that the Biden administration is funding the genocide of innocent Palestinians by providing free healthcare, affordable housing, and free education to Israelis.

Ayloush said that Biden's response to the protests against him and calling him "Genocide Joe" - to which he added "indeed he is" - was to send a senior delegation to Dearborn, Michigan, in an effort to block the campaign to vote "uncommitted" in the Democratic presidential primary. He continued to say that Muslim voters in America are more powerful than all other Muslims, and indeed people, in the world. The talk was streamed live on the Facebook page of the Islamic Center of Eastlake, California, according to Hussam Ayloush's request, the question and answers session following the talk was not included.

Hussam Ayloush: "I hope next time I visit you, inshallah it will be very soon, and I ask each one of you, 'can you name your mayor?' you will easily name the mayor. Not only that – you are going to name the city council members, not only that, you are going to name the candidates who are planning to run for that.

[...]

"Who here has a nice backyard – it doesn't have to be that fancy – that can host an event for them? A meet and greet.

[...]

"Of course, a higher level of engagement is a fundraiser. So if you like that candidate, or that mayor, and you think, 'Hey, I need this person to stay there, because they are good,' then you host a fundraiser. You ask: 'I need 20-30 people to show up, ' 100 dollars, can you invest 100 dollars? Yes, 50 dollars, 100 dollars, we can do that. We show up, write a check. Trust me, that city council (member), mayor, or candidate, will be your friend for a long, long time.

[...]

"These are the people who make a difference in our day-to-day life, and they are the ones who are going to grow in levels of influence.

[...]

"What is happening in Palestine, is an American genocide. It is a Biden genocide against the Palestinian people.

[...]

"Biden is aiding, abetting, justifying, funding, arming, protecting, and shielding this genocide.

[...]

"How does the administration fund this genocide? With weapons? With billions of dollars taken from us American taxpayers?

[...]

"Allah be praised, we have unlimited money to give Israelis free healthcare, affordable housing, free education...Sometimes I wish Israel would become the 51st state in America, so at least they can be treated in the way we are.

[...]

"When Biden started getting criticized around the world, in protests, people calling 'Genocide Joe' - and he is indeed... When they started calling him 'Genocide Joe' and blaming him for the death of all these innocent Palestinian children, women, men, and elderly, he prepared one of the largest and most senior members of a delegation... He put a delegation of very senior staff from his administration, and sent it. Guess where he sent it to. Cairo? No. Islamabad? No. Jakarta? No. Ankara? No. Riyadh? No. Abu Dhabi? No, although these are all important. Did he send them to Ramallah to meet with Mahmoud Abbas? I am sure he didn't even think about that, right? No Where did he send it? Michigan. He sent it to Michigan, to Dearborn, why is that?

[...]

"Why did he think it's important to send this highest level of delegation to Dearborn? Because he wanted to convince them not to stop voting for him, because they were talking about the 'uncommitted' campaign.

[...]

"So for him, 150,000 Muslim voters [in Michigan] are more important than two billion Muslims in the world, more important than eight billion people around the world, because he knows the power that you have as a voter."
