Egyptian Women's Rights Activist Iqbal Baraka Compares Islamic Movements to Nazism

#3499 | 01:21
Source: Nile Life (Egypt)

Following are excerpts from a TV talk show featuring Egyptian women's rights activist Iqbal Baraka, which aired on Nile Life TV on June 27, 2012.

Iqbal Baraka: I am optimistic despite all that has happened. It is beyond the capabilities of any power, especially the Fascist power... The Muslim Brotherhood and all those Islamic movements constitute a Fascist power, which is completely organized: Orders are given, people hear and obey, hands are kissed... this is all Fascism. Hitler's Nazi regime was like that, and so was Mussolini's.

TV guest: Like the Blueshirts and Greenshirts [sic] of the 1940's.

Iqbal Baraka: This is a power that will last for a while and then dissolve by itself, just like the USSR dissolved by itself, and just like Nazism collapsed very easily, all by itself. You give it a push, and it collapses. This is what I expect will happen here, and then Egypt will move forward.
