Egyptian TV Host Criticizes Hamas: More Israelis Killed by Jerusalem Resistance Than by Your War

Following the recent wave of terror attacks in Jerusalem, Egyptian TV host Amani Al-Khayat criticized Hamas, saying: "13 Palestinians [in Jerusalem] succeeded, by sacrificing their pure souls, in getting rid of 11 Israeli settlers, whereas Hamas, with all its mighty missiles, only managed to get rid of three."

Following are excerpts from her address, which aired on November 18, 2014 on the Egyptian Al-Kahera Wal-Nas TV channel:

Amani Al-Khayat: Let us do a little comparison together. We have always held the resistance in the highest regard, and we have always prayed for its success. But if we examine today's Jerusalem [synagogue] operation, and if we check what has happened in the past 15 days, we will have to say, loud and clear, that we have had 13 martyrs [in Jerusalem], but the resistance managed to kill 11 Israeli settlers. That's 13 Palestinians for 11 Israelis in 15 days.

So let us examine two words – "resistance" and "war"… In the 55-day war [in Gaza], we had 2,150 martyrs on our side, the Palestinian side. In exchange for what? Three settlers.

So should we opt for resistance or for a war on unequal terms? Should we opt for resistance by the entire Palestinian people, in Gaza and in Israel, with all its possible achievements, or should we opt for a war that is decided upon by one faction [Hamas], which controls everything that goes on in Gaza?

I started by doing this comparison because it is essential. I want to ask my people in the Gaza Strip: After all you have been through, have you realized the level of stupidity to which Hamas dragged you – and still is?
