Lebanon TV Talk Show Deteriorates Into Brawl Following Heated Discussion On Possible Western Sanctions On Lebanese Politicians Obstructing The Election Of A New President

A Lebanese talk show deteriorated into an exchange of blows between former Environment Minister and MP Wiam Wahhab and journalist Simon Abou Fadel. During the July 20 show on MTV (Lebanon), Wahhab compared the U.S. sanctions to his shoe. To this Abou Fadel answered that Wahhab's shoe is his own problem, but it has nothing to do with reality. This led to a shouting match, until Wahhab threw a glass of water at Abou Fadel, and the two came to blows. It should be noted that sanctions by the U.S. Department of the Treasury were imposed on Wahhab in 2007.

Simon Abou Fadel: "You are free to do whatever you want with your shoe. Your shoe is your own problem, but there is reality in the world..."

Wiam Wahhab: "Your problem... You and your shoe..."

Abou Fadel: "Watch your manners! Watch your manners!"

Wahhab: "Shut up!"

Abou Fadel: "You shut up!"
