In his November 8, 2024, Friday sermon in Jericho, West Bank, Dr. Nasser Al-Qaram, head of the Shari'a Court of Appeals in Nablus, declared that "the greatest triumph is martyrdom for Allah." He spoke of the souls of martyrs ascending to Allah above the destruction in Gaza and emphasized that martyrdom is a priority for Muslims. Quoting the Quran, he described martyrdom as a "transaction" in which Allah "purchases" the lives and possessions of believers in exchange for Paradise. The sermon was aired on Palestine TV.
Nasser Al-Qaram: "We see in Gaza the ruins, the body parts, and the destruction, but above Gaza, the souls of the martyrs are ascending to their Creator. They do not care about the ruins of this world. All we care about is ascending to Allah as martyrs, because the believers made a deal with Allah: 'Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties...' All this is for the sake of Allah. All the destruction that you see – Allah has bought it.
"'Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [and in exchange] for that, they will have Paradise.' This is their reward. 'They fight for the sake of Allah. They kill, and they get killed.' This is the war.

"'So rejoice in the transaction that you have made. That is the great triumph.' The greatest triumph is martyrdom for Allah."
