On December 13, 2024, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense published on its X account a video showing Taiwanese naval forces monitoring Chinese PLA naval vessels, as well as Taiwanese troops and military assets – including fighter jets, armored vehicles, and various missile launchers – performing what appear to be various exercises. The video features captions in Taiwanese Mandarin and in English which criticized China for jeopardizing peace and undermining the "rule-based international order," and which asserted that Taiwan's Ministry of Defense continues to safeguard the nation's sovereignty, maintain regional security, and monitor the adversary, training rigorously and acting in accordance with the circumstances.
