In a May 13, 2023 Nakba Day rally and march to the Israeli consulate in Toronto, activists glorified armed resistance against Israel, and emphasized Palestinian "liberation" within the pre-1948 borders. An activist with Toronto4Palestine praised Palestinian armed resistance within Palestine and stated: "We will free Palestine, from the river to the sea, from every single Zionist… We want our buddies in the Israeli consulate to know that we are coming, we are here, and we will globalize the Intifada." Canadian activist and writer Issam Al-Yamani, who is reportedly a former senior member of the PFLP, said that the Israeli occupation doesn't have the right to defend itself and that one day the Palestinians will celebrate their victory in Jenin, Jerusalem, Haifa, and Jaffa. The organizations sponsoring the event include the Palestinian Youth Movement, Action for Palestine, and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), and the event was advertised as a "family friendly event." Video footage from the rally and march was posted on the Toronto4Palestine Instagram Account and on the YouTube account of author and journalist Eric Brazau.
