Following are excerpts from a statement by the the Tamarrud Movement against Oppression in Gaza, which was posted on August 20, 2013.

Speaker: On the shining day [of November 11], we will shake off the tyranny and oppression of the Muslim Brotherhood [i.e., Hamas] in Gaza. They are no brothers of ours.

They have deceived us in the name of religion and "resistance." They have labeled themselves as believers and us as infidels. Allah alone has the authority to deem someone an infidel or a traitor, but they do not understand this.

Our people has never known bloodshed for the sake of bloodshed alone, except at the hands of the gang of Hamas. Our people have never suffered daily humiliation, torture, trumped-up charges, denial of people's rights, and the triumph of the oppressor over the oppressed except at the hands of the gang of Hamas in Gaza.

The time has come to refuse to die oppressed under the rod of the security [agencies] of Hamas.

The Tamarrud Movement against Oppression in Gaza is a Palestinian youth movement, which encompasses all [political] hues and orientations.

Is anyone safe from the autocratic rule of Hamas in Gaza? Our people, of all national inclinations and ideologies – even the Islamic ones – have been targets for the crimes of this heretic gang, which carried out killings, torture, and sabotage, and acted like thugs, taking bribes and smuggling, just like a gang from the Middle Ages.

What is so shameful and disgraceful is that they are doing all this in the name of Islam, the homeland, and resistance.

[…]

The only thing we desire is to shake off the yoke of oppression, and to seal the abyss [in Palestinian society], dug by the Hamas gang – those traffickers in tunnels and hypocrisy.

We want to restore the national standing of Gaza, so that it can regain its role in the war for freedom and independence from the Zionist occupation. For the sake of the future of our homeland and the coming generations, we must all make November 11 a purely Palestinian national day, without any foreign interference.
