Syrian Political Analyst Hmeidi Al-Abdallah: Once Idlib Is Liberated, the U.S. Forces in Syria Will Be Next

Syrian political analyst Hmeidi Al-Abdallah said that the Americans were trying to intimidate the Syrian army and delay the battle over Idlib, out of the realization that "once Idlib is liberated, the foreign forces will be next - and first and foremost the U.S. forces, which occupy some areas in Syria." He was speaking on the Syrian Al-Ikhbariya TV channel on August 26, 2018.

The following are excerpts:

Syrian Political Analyst Hmeidi Al-Abdallah: [The Americans] want to intimidate the Syrian army, or to try to prevent it from moving ahead with the military operation [in Idlib], because the United States realizes that once Idlib is liberated, the foreign forces will be next – and first and foremost the U.S. forces, which occupy the same areas in Syria. Therefore, they are trying to postpone that moment.

As I’ve said, the U.S. and its Western allies wish to delay the battle [for Idlib], because this will postpone the confrontation with their military forces, which are present illegally in some areas in Syria.
