Sudan Revolutionary Front Leader General Malik Agar: If We Assume Power in Sudan, We May Establish Relations with Israel

Following are excerpts from an interview with General Malik Agar, Leader of the Sudan Revolutionary Front, which aired on Al-Arabiya TV on November 12, 2013.


Interviewer: Some of the organizations composing the Revolutionary Front, such as Abd Al-Wahid Al-Nour's Sudan liberation Movement, maintain a representation and offices in Israel. Does that mean that if the SRF takes power in Khartoum, it will establish diplomatic ties with Israel?


General Malik Agar: We will establish equal foreign relations based on peace with all countries, in keeping with the interests of Sudanese foreign policy, which will be...


Interviewer: You have no red lines regarding cooperation or relations with Israel?


General Malik Agar: We cannot state our red lines. They will be determined when we become a country. We may establish relations with the U.S. or with Israel.


With regard to the Arabs – the Israeli flag can be seen in several Arab countries. If it is a matter of religion – their flag may be seen in Islamic and Christian countries.

Interviewer: Do any of the groups composing the SRF receive funds or weapons from Israel?


General Malik Agar: We do not receive weapons from any country. If what people say about us were true – that we receive all those funds – we would have taken over Sudan in less than a year.
