On May 28, Imam AbdelFattah Rahhaoui, Director of the French-Muslim Al-Badr School Group, delivered a sermon in Meaux, in which he said that all the prophets, including Jesus and Moses, were Muslims and that the hijab was "an obligation that will never change." The Al-Badr School Group attended the April 2015 conference of the Union of French-Islamic Organizations [UOIF], which is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Following are excerpts:

Imam AbdelFattah Rahhaoui: Can we reform Islam in France? Let me begin by recalling an important point. The one and only religion that Allah revealed from Heaven is Islam. The only religion approved by Allah is Islam. All the prophets are or were Muslims. Abraham was a Muslim, Noah was a Muslim, Jesus was a Muslim, and Moses was a Muslim. All the prophets, from the very beginning – from the first to the last – came with one sole religion, that of Islam, which means submission to our Lord. With regard to Christianity or Judaism, many say that these are revelations that descended from Heaven, but this is wrong. These religions were invented. They were not revealed. Therefore, the only religion that was approved by Allah is Islam.

Some time ago, a few years ago, they suggested moving the Friday prayer to Saturday. For those who followed the news, this was over ten years ago. [They said:] Since people work on Friday, we will make them [pray] on Saturday. At the end of the day, this is the [Jewish] Sabbath.

[The authorities say:] Women do not need to wear the hijab.

[…]

The women must flourish at school, but since you cannot bring the woman to school with her hijab, [they say that] she has the right – the right! – to remove her hijab. What right are they talking about? Allah has given her [the duty to wear the hijab]. I say to anyone who is watching and listening: The hijab is the law of Allah. It will not be replaced until Judgment Day. The hijab is an obligation that will never change.
