Saudi King Berated for Ban on Joining the Jihad in Syria

A preacher recently berated Saudi King Abdullah following a royal decree issued in February, imposing prison sentences on Saudis who go to Syria to join the Jihad. In the sarcasm-laced Friday sermon delivered in Homs, Syria, the preacher prays for Allah to inflict the monarch with disease and says: "We shall drive you out as a lowly wretched fugitive." The sermon was posted on the Internet on February 7, 2014.

Following are excerpts:

Preacher: The Syrian people are not hungry. They are not a people of beggars. Their women do not look for someone to cover them with dirhams and riyals.

Your Royal Highness, [Saudi King Abdullah], lording over the Arabian Peninsula is too small a task for you. It would only be fair to make you king of the world.

Thank you, Your Royal Highness. You should be rewarding people who fight the Jihad in Syria, rather than threatening to throw them into prison.

Your Royal Highness, why do you forbid what Allah has made your duty? Do you seek to appease your masters?

Your time too will come, Your Royal Highness. By Allah, with the support of Allah, we shall drive you out as a lowly, wretched fugitive, or else you will be driven out by the Rafidite Shia as a lowly, wretched fugitive. Then, you will flee to your masters in Britain and the U.S.

May Allah grant you a long life. May He lead you to disgrace, paralyzing your right arm, and make you lose your sight just as you have lost your insight. May He strike you with a disease until you die and meet Allah, or until you repent and return to your senses.
