Saudi Cleric Al-Qahtani: Demonstrations are a Barbaric Course of Action

#457 | 53
Source: Channel 1 (Saudi Arabia)

The following are excerpts from an interview with Saudi cleric Said Al-Qahtani:

Al-Qahtani: Demonstrations are a type of revolutionary, barbaric course of action. They are not legitimate religious conduct. The Prophet did not accept this behavior, nor did he order his companions to act this way. They do not express demands in a legitimate religious manner. No. Demonstrations are a barbaric course of action. Who invented demonstrations? This barbaric course of action was initiated in the Communist countries. Later it moved to the Ccapitalist countries, and they want us to use it in our country. No! We don't have… Over there [in the West] the rule is in the hands of the people, the masses, the majority. Over here, the rule is in the hands of truth, the Koran and the Sunna. We don't have these "masses" or these matters… They want to bring it to our country, and this invites barbarism and anarchy. Whoever calls for this hasn't got an ounce of brain and no faith in God.
