Russian Train Displays Spoils from Syria War to Show the Russian People "How Successful the Russian Military Has Been in Its War against Global Terrorism"

On February 24, 2019, Al-Arabiya Network (Saudi Arabia) aired a report about a Russian train that will be traveling to 61 Russian cities in 45 days and displaying spoils from the war in Syria. The train will reportedly carry about 500 pieces of military equipment, including vehicles and weapons systems, and the display will take place on Defender of the Fatherland Day. A Russian soldier who was interviewed said that the goal is to show the Russian people how successful Russia has been in its war against global terrorism. The report said that the train is slated to return to Moscow on WWII Victory Day (May 9).

 

Reporter: The train carrying booty from the war in Syria will set out from Moscow. It will pass through dozens of Russian cities displaying weapons captured by the Russians from the factions that fought the Al-Assad regime for eight years. The display will take place on Defender of the Fatherland Day, and it supports the Kremlin's propaganda about Russia's leadership of the war on terrorism.
