Qatari FM Mohammed Al-Thani Speaks against Iran Sanctions: Dialogue Is the Only Solution

At a news conference following a meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue in Doha, Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani discussed the economic sanctions against Iran. He said that the decision to prolong the sanctions and to not extend sanctions exemptions will affect countries benefiting from Iranian oil. He stated that Qatar does not believe unilateral sanctions have a positive effect on crises, which he said should be solved only through dialogue. Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani: Regarding the issue of Iran… The Iranian Foreign Minister was also here today, and Iran previously presided over [the Asia Cooperation Dialogue]. The current meeting came after the decision to prolong the sanctions against Iran and to not extend sanctions exemptions. This decision will definitely affect countries benefiting from Iranian oil.
