The Palestinian Islamic Jihad's representative in Iran Nasser Abu Sharif said in a January 20, 2025 show on Ofogh TV (Iran) that it is "hard to fathom" that the small Gaza Strip was able to defeat the "Zionist regime," the United States, Germany, France, and the Arab regimes, which he specifically criticized for having betrayed Gaza instead of supporting it. He criticized Egypt for not having even allowed "a glass of water" in aid to enter Gaza and for not having shown any "resistance." He said that the resistance has many enemies, yet it may develop into a "real intifada" that will "encompass all the Palestinians," and he thanked Iran for being the only country supporting Gaza and defending the Palestinians' right to fight. He also said: "I thank the great, humane people of Iran and their leader [Khamenei]."
Nasser Abu Sharif: "It is hard to fathom that this small [Gaza] strip would be able to defeat the Zionist regime, America, Germany, France, and the Arab countries. Our people are very supportive [of the resistance], but unfortunately, the Arab regimes did not support us, but rather betrayed us. Our neighbor Egypt did not allow even a glass of water to enter Gaza. Even [President] Biden admitted, in one of his speeches, that the 'President of Mexico' [Egyptian President Abdel Fattah] El-Sisi is not allowing anything to enter Gaza, and that he put the pressure on him to get food and aid trucks into Gaza. Then, Israel occupied the Philadelphi Corridor and the Rafah Crossing, and no Egyptian showed any resistance.
