On the backdrop of the Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, Abu Hamza, the spokesman for the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, said in a January 21, 2025 show on Al-Araby TV (Qatar) that his group extends gratitude and salutations to the "brothers" in Qatar and Egypt for their mediation in the ceasefire negotiations. He also expressed gratitude to the "free" media outlets that have supported Gaza throughout Israel's "aggression," and he specifically praised Al-Jazeera TV (Qatar) and its management, its staff, and its reporters for not "fleeing the scene" in Gaza despite being "harassed and targeted." He also thanked the "free" media outlets Al-Mayadeen TV (Lebanon), Palestine Today TV (PIJ), Quds Today TV (PIJ), Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas-Gaza), Al-Manar TV (Hizbullah-Lebanon), Al-Araby TV (Qatar), Alghad TV (Egypt), Al-Jazeera Live (Qatar), and Al-Masirah TV (Houthis-Yemen).
Abu Hamza: "We would like to extend our gratitude and salutations to the mediator brothers in Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt, for their great and much appreciated role in the successful completion of this [ceasefire] deal.
