Maher Mezher, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Central Committee, said in a July 1, 2020 interview on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas-Gaza) that the people in the West Bank have great resources for struggle and encouraged them to "become the spearhead on the path to raise the price of occupation" by means of a third Intifada, armed operations, and martyrdom-seeking operations. He encouraged people to use all means of fighting, including knives, Molotov cocktails, pistols, and Kalashnikov rifles. The interview took place at a demonstration in Gaza against Israeli annexation of parts of the West Bank.

Maher Mezher: "We say to our people in the [West] Bank: You are better than us! You have great resources for the struggle. What is required of you today is that you become the spearhead on the path to raise the price of occupation through a third popular Intifada, a return to armed operations, and through struggle in all its forms – first and foremost through martyrdom-seeking operations. What is required of the young people now is to use all the means [of fighting]: knives, Molotov cocktails, pistols, and Kalashnikov rifles."
