Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said that since 1967, Israel has conducted several archeological digs under the Al-Aqsa Mosque, but it has failed to find any evidence of the existence of a Jewish temple. He made his remarks in an interview that aired on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) on June 7, 2021.

Mohammad Shtayyeh: "Since 1967, when it occupied the West Bank, and to this day, Israel has conducted a number of [archeological] digs underneath the Al-Aqsa Mosque, but failed to prove anything about a [Jewish] temple or whatever."
