Palestinian Journalist Ayman Khaled: Hamas Is Complicit In Stealing The Humanitarian Aid And Selling It In Gaza Markets

In a November 19, 2024 video posted on his YouTube channel, Palestinian journalist Ayman Khaled accused Hamas of being complicit in stealing humanitarian aid entering Gaza and selling it in local markets. Khaled made these claims following the execution of two men by Hamas authorities for allegedly stealing 97 aid trucks. Khaled argued that it was implausible for two individuals to carry out such an operation alone, suggesting it was an organized operation.

Ayman Khaled: "Ninety-seven aid trucks [were stolen in Gaza]. In order to unload 97 trucks, 1,000 people are needed. 1,000 people in Gaza are needed to unload the aid from the trucks to the ground. In order to store 97 trucks, you need huge warehouses. We are talking about Gaza, which is a small area. It could be even only in Rafah, which is a very small area. 97 trucks carrying tens of thousands of aid [were stolen] in a single day, at a time when there is hunger in Gaza, there is no flour, and people eat dirt. No one can convince me that it was just two people who carried out this job.

[...]

"Thousands of people are involved in this operation – hijacking the trucks, getting them in, unloading them, selling [the aid] to merchants, and then distributing it. This operation has been going on for a year now. It did not happen overnight. Therefore, when Hamas says that it killed the two people who are responsible for this, it is fooling us. This is nonsense. This is illogical. Nobody believes that. Today, Hamas is present at the markets. The aid is being sold in the markets of Gaza for more than a year now. Where have you been, Hamas? Oh right, they have been busy liberating Jerusalem. Maybe that is why you were busy liberating Jerusalem. However, when the story became known, you decided to execute two people. Even if you were to execute 100 people for stealing the aid – this operation cannot be carried out by 100 people. This is an organized operation.

[...]

"Enough! Enough, Hamas! You are accomplices."
