Palestinian Islamic Jihad Leader in Lebanon Mahfouz Munawwar: Holocaust Blown Out of Proportion; Its Goal Was to Spur Jews to Leave for Palestine

Palestinian Islamic Jihad Leader in Lebanon Mahfouz Munawwar said in a recent interview that "the massacres carried out against some of the Jews in Poland were not massacres for the sake of massacre" and that they had been "blown out of proportion." They were part of a greater plan - "the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine, at the expense of the Palestinian people," he claimed. He further said that members of the Zionist lobby "would cause trouble, burn down homes, steal, and kill," in Jewish neighborhoods in Arab countries, in order to encourage the Jews to leave. The interview aired on Al-Nabaa TV, a Saudi opposition channel broadcasting from Lebanon, on May 22, 2016.

Following are excerpts

Mahfouz Munawwar: When some European countries carried out massacres against the Jews, the Jews were not the target. The goal was to spur the Jews to leave these countries, in order to achieve the greater plan - the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine, at the expense of the Palestinian people. All the events that took place back then were part of a premeditated plan.

The talk about the Holocaust was never about the Holocaust per se... The massacres carried out against some of the Jews in Poland were not just massacres for the sake of massacre, regardless of the question how many were killed, and the scale of these events, which have been blown out of proportion. The aim was to drive as many Jews as possible out, as was the case in the Arab countries.

Today, there are TV series that deal with this period, and recount in brief, and sometimes in detail, how members of the Zionist lobby would operate in Jewish quarters in Arab countries. They would cause trouble, burn down homes, steal, and kill, in order to spur the Jews to leave. There are some writers, including the French author Roger Garaudy, who denied that the Holocaust even took place.
