Palestinian Authority TV hosted a discussion between two Palestinian historians, Jareer Al-Qidwa and ‘Issam Sisalem. The following is a verbatim translation of excerpts from their conversation, broadcast on May 20, 2004:
Jareer Al-Qidwa: We have never seen or heard, throughout history, of such barbarism and cruelty as the (Israelis) demonstrate...
‘Issam Sisalem: Not even from the Nazis.
Al-Qidwa: From any person, any person. They remind us of monsters or of animals…
Host: On the same subject, what do you say about these massacres?
Sisalem: This is a great lie. Were Goebbels and his ilk to be resurrected, he would reveal that they are greater liars than he is, I mean those who have whined in the past that they have been oppressed or killed… and a holocaust… and massacres in Russia… and Chmielnicki pogroms… Now they attack a people on its land… a people with 7,000 years of history.
