Following are excerpts from an interview with Pakistani political commentator Zaid Hamid, which aired on ARY News TV and was posted on the Internet on August 11, 2013:
Zaid Hamid: If you ask me, I pray to Allah that the Americans withdraw from [Afghanistan], and leave the Indians there. It has been a long time since we massacred Hindus in Afghanistan. Historically, it was always like that, and that is why the mountains in Afghanistan are called "Hindu Kush." "Hindu Kush" means a place where Hindus are to be beheaded, a place that kills Hindus. Historically, whenever Hindus entered Afghanistan, they were butchered there.
We pray to Allah that the U.S. withdraws from Afghanistan, and leaves the Bania [Hindu merchants] in their place. The things we would do to the Bania in Afghanistan would make them refrain from looking toward Afghanistan and Pakistan for thousands of years.
The Karzai government will not be able to sustain itself in Afghanistan after the departure of the Americans, no matter how many troops India deploys there. The Afghan Taliban have always supported Pakistan, and are our loyal neighbor and our brethren.
The Tajiks and Uzbeks in Afghanistan have understood very well that it is time to do away with their enmity toward Pakistan, the misunderstanding that they developed with Pakistan due to the Afghan Taliban.
Afghanistan is a Muslim country, and Muslim countries alone will decide its fate. Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan will make a joint decision regarding Afghanistan.
There is no room for Hindu polytheists there. The Afghan Taliban are waiting to bury Hindu polytheists there, just as they buried the Americans. That is what we are praying for. They do not pose a problem for us. We have problems only as long as the Americans remain. So long as the Americans are present there, the Indian intelligence [RAW] will keep on sending TTP and BLA [militants]. They already have bases in place in Afghanistan. This will happen within a year and a half, and it will be dangerous for us.
With regard to the Line of Control [in Kashmir], the entire Indian media, the Indian parliament, and the Indian army chief are talking about attacking Pakistan, because they see that the Pakistani state is collapsing, the government is confused, and the Pakistani army does not have the support of the judiciary, the media, or the government.
This is a time when India might wage a serious, limited war against Pakistan. They want to do it. There is no doubt about it now. If they do not do it, it will only be because Pakistan takes an aggressive posture, and threatens India with a jaw-breaking response, if it tries to cross the Line of Control border with Pakistan. If the Pakistani state and government do not do this, in the coming weeks and months you should prepare [for war], because the Indians are not creating this hype for no reason. There is a reason for that.
As we speak, a war continues at the Line of Control between the Pakistani Forces and Rangers and the Indian army. Only yesterday, the Indian army chief said that they want to wage a limited war against Pakistan by attacking the Pakistan army. Such a war would be neither limited nor conventional. They live in a fool's paradise.
These polytheists do not know that if they poke us once, by Allah, we shall reach Delhi by liberating Kashmir. This has been our history. From the mountains of Hindu Kush to Delhi, the region belongs to the Muslims, not to the Hindus. If Hindus have a temporary presence there, by Allah, what has been happening for the past thousand years will continue to happen in the future.
