Nasser Al-Shammari, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Iraqi Hizbullah Al-Nujaba Movement, said in a September 27, 2020 interview on Al-Ahd TV (Iraq) that the Hizbullah Al-Nujaba Movement will not target the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad despite the fact that it is a "den of spies" belonging to the "American Satan." He said that the Al-Nujaba Movement will only target the American military, but he personally encourages and would "kiss the hands" of anyone who decides to stand up to American's arrogance by targeting those "spies" with precise weapons.

Nasser Al-Shammari, September 27: "We are saying this unequivocally, and we have said dozens of times that despite all the violations and the problems with the presence of the den of spies, the den of interference, the den of the American Satan in the heart of Baghdad, with its C-RAM and Patriot [air defense systems], with its weapons, with its spies, with the Israeli delegations that come without the government's knowledge – despite all this we have stated clearly that we would not target the U.S. embassy. We will view it as a diplomatic mission, and we will not move to target it. However, we will target any American military presence in Iraq."

[...]

Interviewer: "Do you condone targeting the American Embassy with Kalashnikov rifles? Yes or No?"

Al-Shammari: "Given that the Embassy is between residential buildings and government offices, I believe that targeting it in this way may harm innocent people. But if someone has a weapon, then I say... If you ask me personally, as Nasser Al-Shammari, not as [a representative of] the Al-Nujaba Movement, I would say that if I had a precise weapon and I were able to target these spies, then by Allah, I would do that."

Interviewer: "Didn't we say that we were done with the Katyushas?"

Al-Shammari: "I was speaking about myself, not about the Al-Nujaba Movement."

[...]

Interviewer: "So you encourage people to [target the U.S. Embassy]?"

Al-Shammari: "If anyone stands up to American recklessness and arrogance, I will not only encourage him – I will kiss his hands."
