Minnesota Friday Sermon by Imam Farok Alsamarai: "Loathsome" Secular Movement Wants to Turn Women into Merchandise; Islam Gives Women Purity and Dignity

Imam Farok Alsamarai said in an August 2, 2019 Friday sermon at the Al-Israa Mosque in Fridley, Minnesota that, for centuries, the "loathsome" secular movement has been calling upon people and Muslim society to "cut women off" from the laws of Allah so that it can turn women into merchandise and because it does not care about women's dignity or human rights. Saying that nude or dolled-up women have become a "trademark," Imam Alsamarai gave the examples of pictures of women in ads for car tires and on shampoo bottles, and claimed that many countries promote hotels by providing women to men seeking a night of debauchery. Imam Alsamarai said, conversely, that Islamic law gives women modesty, purity, moral values, characteristics, and dignity. Imam Alsamarai posted the sermon, titled "Oh Secularists, Have Mercy upon Women," to his YouTube channel.

Imam Farok Alsamarai: For centuries, the loathsome secular movement has been calling upon people and upon Muslim society to cut women off from the laws of Allah. This is the main issue. Rest assured, they do not care about the human [rights] of women, because they humiliate women in everyday life. Nude women, dressed women, and dolled-up women have become a trademark in the world. By God, societies in the world have degraded women. Brothers, they put a picture of a woman in an ad for car tires to promote them. What do women have to do with car tires? Soap, shampoo, everything… A man is taking a bath, and they put a picture of a half-naked woman on the shampoo. Brothers, I haven't seen such degradation of women like I see in the world. Islam [says] that if you cut women off from the laws of Allah, you cut them off from their modesty, purity, and moral values. You cut them off from their characteristics, from the dignity they command. By God, brothers, the only reason they want to cut women off from the laws of Allah is that so they can turn women into merchandise. Don't they promote hotels in many countries, including in the Islamic world, by providing women to men seeking a night of debauchery? By God, is this the status of dignity suitable for wives and mothers who raise the future generations of our nation?
