Mahmoud Mardawi, a member of the Hamas leadership, asked in a September 1, 2024 interview with Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) how come Jordan has not joined the war against Israel. He asked why millions of young people in Jordan and elsewhere are not blocking truck convoys trying to circumvent the Houthi blockade in the Red Sea and the Arab Sea.
Mahmoud Mardawi: "The war and the confrontation are long and will continue. We wish that all the resistance, headed by the resistance axis, play an influential role that will make a change – whether on the West Bank front, the Lebanon front, the [Houthi] brothers of Ansar Allah, the resistance in Syria, in Iraq, as well as Jordan.
"Why isn't Jordan joining in? How come the millions of young people in Jordan and other countries are not joining the resistance? What prevents the Arab youths from cutting off the convoys of trucks that shatter the siege laid by Ansar Allah in the Red Sea and the Arab Sea?"
