Lebanese Minister Marwan Hamada: Nasrallah Is a Spy for Iran

#1696 | 01:42
Source: Press TV (Iran)

Following are excerpts from an interview with Lebanese MP Marwan Hamada, which aired on Press TV on February 25, 2008.

Marwan Hamada: Unfortunately, this poor Lebanese ruling authority and government, as you say, has no tapping system. If somebody taps... If somebody created a whole network, parallel to the state, spying on the state, it is Hizbullah. So, [don't make me] return the accusation to him [Nasrallah]: He's a spy for Iran. I am not a spy for anybody.

Interviewer: He's a spy...

Hamada: For Iran.

Interviewer: For Iran. And you're not a spy...

Hamada: For anybody.

Interviewer: For not... You're not...

Hamada: For Lebanon. I defend my country. I defend my independence, I defend my democracy, I defend my integrity, and I will not accept anybody impeding on it – even if he believes he's a saint.

Interviewer: A spy for Iran does not offer his son to sacrifice and spill his blood on the soil of Lebanon, for the sake of Lebanon. If he was a spy for Iran, he wouldn't go and fight the Israelis since 1982.

Hamada: I will ask you something. Who has given him – except what he supposes is God – this authority to engage Lebanon alone in this battle, and to sacrifice his son? I accuse him of sacrificing his son. Why doesn't he go and fight from the Golan Heights? The real occupied Arab territories are Palestine and the Golan Heights. The Shaba' Farms is an invention.
