Kuwaiti TV Host Sa'oud Al-Wara Weeps and Bewails Mubarak's Fate: If He Dies, the Egyptians Will Be the Ones Who Killed Him

Following are excerpts from a statement by Kuwaiti TV host Sa'oud Al-Wara, which aired on Scope TV and posted on the Internet on April 29, 2011:

Sa'oud Al-Wara (weeping): [The Egyptians] suffer from uncertainty and insecurity. Egypt has no security. Hosni Mubarak is there, but he is imprisoned. You threw him into prison!

Oh Egyptians, you good people, we love you… I used to live among you. I was educated among you. Why did you have to act this way towards him? His children are in jail, people are cursing his wife. He was a president and a symbol, and all of a sudden, he was sent from his throne to prison.

He could have escaped, he could have left with his honor intact. Take the throne and the regime, and give us Hosni. We want him. We want this great man. We want him to live his final days in honor. This is not right, by Allah. This is wrong! This is very un-Egyptian of you. The Egyptians are very good and merciful.

This is a message from me, an Arab citizen from the Gulf, to all Egyptians: By Allah, this is wrong! By Allah, it would be wrong to let Hosni Mubarak die in prison.

Help me, God… Abu Alaa [Mubarak], I love you. By Allah, I do. I love you, regardless of whether you are a president or a deposed ruler. We love you even though you resigned. Abu Alaa, what can I say… The winds have toppled everybody. They used to sing your praises… You had 30 years of praise and 30 days of insults.

You should be ashamed, oh Egyptians. When insults come from family members, they are even more difficult to bear. When insults come from family members, they can kill a man. If he dies – you will be the ones who killed him.
