Following are excerpts from a program featuring former Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Kamal Al-Hilbawi, which aired on Al Alam TV on February 21, 2012.
Kamal Al-Hilbawi: I admire [Khamenei's] humbleness and emphases on the progress of the nation – the scientific and technological progress which has become an annoying matter for the West, because the west does not want anyone – whether from the Islamic nation or not – to make any progress.
The West wants to gain control. It attacked Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and is now attacking the Islamic nation. The West loves only itself. It is a selfish regime, which does not love others. Our religion teaches us: Wish for your brothers what you wish for yourself. Therefore, weare the best people, and we should lead humanity to a better and brighter future.
I hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran will be a model that will be emulated in everything: a model of justice, a model of uniting Sunnis and Shiites, a model as the center of the Islamic nation, a model of human rights, a model of respecting all of mankind. Allah willing, we will witness this, in cooperation with the other Islamic regimes, which will rise in our Arab and Islamic world following the collapse of the worn-out regimes.
