Jordanian Islamist Leader Hamza Mansour: All Arab and Islamic Countries Should Have Nuclear Bombs to Deter the U.S. and Israel

Following are excerpts from an interview with Sheik Hamza Mansour, secretary-general of the Jordanian Islamic Action Front, which aired on Al-Alam TV on May 29, 2006.

Sheik Hamza Mansour: Europe and America compete in helping the Zionist enemy to obtain a nuclear bomb. It is said that the Zionist entity has 300 nuclear warheads. When Pakistan achieved a [nuclear] Islamic bomb, all hell broke loose. Why don't they talk about a "Christian bomb"? Why don't they talk about a "Jewish bomb" or a "Hindu bomb"? When the Islamic Republic of Iran made progress in using modern technology, including nuclear energy, the world was in turmoil.

Let me be frank with you, I am in favor of Iran, and all Arab Muslim countries, having nuclear energy both for peaceful and military purposes, because Allah said to us: "Prepare against them all the force you can."

I don't have the power that deters the Zionist entity and the U.S. from carrying out aggression, I will continue to be oppressed, humiliated, and at their mercy. Therefore, I congratulate Iran, which is represented by the supreme leader, by the president, by the government, and by the Iranian people. I congratulate them on this accomplishment, which I do not consider to be an Iranian accomplishment alone, but an Islamic accomplishment. I congratulate them on this accomplishment, and it is my hope that they continue on this path, until they achieve equality and balance with all the forces threatening this nation.
