On March 31, 2020, the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria released a rare video from its Homs district. The video, titled "The Epic Battles of Attrition 2," is nearly 29 minutes long, and was released on official ISIS channels on Telegram and other platforms. The video focuses on ISIS attacks on the Syrian army in the Homs desert region, with most of the raids and ambushes shown in the video taking place near the town of Sukhna, situated on the Palmyra-Deir Al-Zour road. The video shows scenes from multiple raids and ambushes on Syrian army forces, and one raid on a force belonging to Liwa Al-Quds, a Palestinian militia loyal to the Assad regime. A large portion of the video shows executions of Syrian army officers and soldiers, including one colonel, and Liwa Al-Quds members, captured in the raids. The captives are humiliated before being beheaded or otherwise executed.
