In a recent TV interview, IRGC Navy Commander Ali Fadavi said: "The Americans are aware that if they make even the slightest mistake, their naval vessels will be sunk in the Persian Gulf, the Hormuz Strait, and the Sea of Oman." He further claimed that Iran's vessels would emerge from "undersea tunnels," in which "no force will be able to harm our naval vessels." In the interview, which aired on IRINN TV on May 10, Fadavi maintained that the crew of U.S. vessels is now obliged to speak Farsi in the Persian Gulf, and indeed do so.
Following are excerpts
Ali Fadavi: We told the Americans that this is the Persian Gulf, and that anyone who wants to be in the Persian Gulf must speak Farsi. Almost every American naval vessel now has a Farsi speaker on board. This could be an American who speaks Farsi, or a non-American who resides in the US and belongs to the US armed forces. Even on January 12, during the incident in which we detained the US sailors, most of the talks between the Americans and us were held in Farsi.

Instead of our vessels leaving the coast in order to reach the American (vessels), they will emerge from undersea tunnels. Rest assured that no force will be able to harm our naval vessels in the tunnels before the confrontation takes place.

At the end of winter - I think it was in February - we conducted tests on vessels that reached the speed of 80 knots. The next stage is to produce on an industrial level vessels that can reach this speed. God willing, we will achieve this in the sixth five-year plan.
