On January 11, 2020, Iranians took to the streets in protest after the General Staff of Iran’s armed forces admitted to having shot down Ukrainian Flight 752 from Tehran to Kiev on January 8, 2020. The protesters chanted: “Death to [Khamenei]!”; “The Islamic Republic needs to be destroyed!”; “Resignation wouldn’t be enough! You should be prosecuted!”; “Death to this Rule (of the Jurisprudent) after all those years of crime!”; “We didn’t sacrifice so many people just to compromise and laud the murderous Leader!”; “Shame on the IRGC’s people! Leave the country alone!” The videos were uploaded to various Internet sources, including MANOTO News (Iran).
