Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in a November 11, 2020 cabinet meeting that aired on IRINN TV (Iran) that the current Trump administration, which is coming to an end, has interfered in Iran's relations with other countries and that the end of this administration will make conditions more "favorable." He said that Trump's administration was not very familiar with international politics and that it almost carried out the "dictates" of Israel and of extremists.
President Hasan Rouhani: "The foundation of our [foreign] relations is our neighboring and friendly countries. The American administration, which is nearing its end, has unfortunately interfered with our relations with the other countries. I sense that this interfering [administration] will soon disappear, and now the conditions are more favorable for acting in accordance with the [Americans' actual] interests.
"The problem of the [American] administration, which is in its final months, was that it was not very familiar with international politics. It was almost carrying out the dictates of [American] extremists and of the Zionist regime.
"Some of our youth believe that we were the ones who cut off relations with America. This is not the case. They are the ones who cut relations off with Iran. We did not start this."
