Ali Khamenei:Today the world hates the methods of America. Today, in the Islamic world, from Indonesia to Morocco... Anywhere you go and ask people, they harbor hatred towards the leaders of the White House deep in their hearts.

If [the Americans] want to know who is really isolated, I suggest they conduct a referendum in the Islamic world. Thus, they can compare our president's popularity with that of the American president.

They accuse the Islamic Republic of violating human rights. This is one of the funny jokes of our time. America has become the standard-bearer of human rights. Which America? The America of Hiroshima, the America of Guantanamo, the America of Abu Ghuraib, the America that generates wars and insecurity throughout the world.

They say we are violating human rights. They themselves are the greatest violators of human rights. If in the world today... I don't mean only the Islamic world... If a referendum were held throughout the world, you should have no doubt that the current American president would be grouped together with Sharon, Saddam, and Milosevic, as the icons of evil.

Today, America poses a threat to peace and security in the world. Therefore, the slogan "Death to America" is no longer used only by our people. Today, you see throughout the world people setting fire to the effigy of the American president and chanting the slogan "Death to America".

This is because of the American regime's exaggerated demands, its arrogance, its vanity, and its desire to control, and because it is a pawn in the hands of the Zionists.
