Iran Celebrates Test Launch of S-300 Surface-to-Air Missile System

On March 4, Iran released an edited version of the test launching of the S-300 Surface-to-Air Missile System, purchased from Russia. According to the report, which was posted by IRIB on YouTube, the launch was successful, "destroying the target missile with precision."

Voiceover: "A new dawn is breaking over the central desert of Iran. This test launch has gained the attention of the entire world. The (military) units are deployed at various locations in the desert. This is the S-300 (missile defense) system. The world in its entirety did not want to see this system in Iran. Today, however, Iran has more than just one S-300 system. It has many. All the experts present are Iranian. It is time for the launch."

Reporter: "This is the moment of the launching of the S-300 strategic defense missile."

Voiceover: "This is a defense missile with tremendous capabilities. One by one, the S-300 missiles pierce the skies on their way to destroy the targets. One of the targets was a ballistic missile, which was fired from a certain location in Iran. The first S-300 missile destroyed the target missile with precision."
