HTS Leader Muhammad Al-Joulani Attends Eid Al-Fitr Celebration with Families of "Martyrs," Gives Children Toys

On May 26, 2020, a video was uploaded to Telegram of HTS leader Muhammad Al-Joulani at an Eid Al-Fitr celebration with families of fighters who have been killed. Al-Joulani said to the families that their martyrs are beacons for the future, and that HTS is also following the path of martyrdom. Al-Joulani was then shown hugging and kissing children, and giving them gifts such as dolls and toy guns.

Muhammad Al-Joulani: "Dear families, we ask Allah to help us in caring for you. Those who have left behind them sons like these are not dead or killed at all. They will be beacons for the future, Allah willing. We are all following the path of martyrdom, Allah willing. I am sharing the happiness of this celebration with you, my beloved ones. All these children are my sons. I love them. I ask Allah to meet their fathers in Paradise. We are all on this path. They got to Paradise first, and I will follow them, Allah willing."
