On June 26, 2024, the Houthis' official Military Media Telegram channel published technical details and footage of the launch of the new "hypersonic missile" that the Houthis claimed on the previous day to have launched towards the "Israeli ship" MSC SARAH V in the Arab Sea.

Onscreen text: "Hatem-2 ballistic missile- smart control system, maneuvering capabilities, hypersonic, solid fuel, multiple generations of the missile exist with various ranges, manufactured by the Yemeni Military Manufacturing Authority."
