Houthi spokesman Nasruddin Amer said on a September 30, 2024 show on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) that the Houthis had tracked Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's plane and fired a missile at Ben Gurion Airport when he landed there. He said that the Houthis know that Israel and the United States are very powerful, but they don’t fear their retaliation because they desire to become martyrs.
Nasruddin Amer: "There is no ceiling to our attacks. You could see yesterday that we fired a missile at the Ben Gurion Airport, when Netanyahu was there. This was done on purpose. We tracked his plane until it arrived at the airport.
"We attacked the airport in order to send him a message, that we are fighting without any ceiling. We are not the kind of people who take such things into consideration. We will not hesitate to use any kind of force, and therefore, we are not afraid of being attacked.
"We know that the Israelis and Americans have power and they can do more than what they have done so far. This is possible, but we will never back down, no matter what they do. Even if they dropped all their weapons on us, we will not back down, because this has to do with our religious principles, which are not affected by the number of casualties or the fear of retaliation. This is a desired goal – to become martyrs for the sake of Allah, if we are killed."
