Hizbullah Poet Atef Moussa: Who Says We Are Afraid of War

The following is a poem written by the Lebanese poet 'Atef Moussa, which aired on Al-Manar TV on May 22, 2005.

Moussa: Who says we are afraid of the war or of all the names they give us? Who can compare to the men of Hizbullah? The infidels – as much as they act like men - will vanish. We are strong, and they are weak. Who says we are afraid of the war? We have a right, and it is our duty to restore it. This is justice, law, and decency. We don't care if Bush is against this right, or that we've become "terrorists," now that they've changed the norms. If they can, by Allah, let them challenge us. If you are indeed a hero, Bush, stand up. Remember what happened to 'Amar when Allah helped Ali. Ali ripped him to shreds. Who says we are afraid of the war? Where is the justice? Answer me, people. In our times – the invaders have become nobles. They gathered the Jews from around the world and brought them to the land which is undisputedly ours. America helped this evil, and signed pacts and agreements with it. And for us, it sharpened its sword - destroying our present, and plundering our past. Who is the fool who lets his cheeks be stepped on? Who is the fool who lets his cheeks be stepped on? Who has the honor… Who loves humiliation? Not us. We fight for our honor. Not us, we are the soldiers of heaven. The bombs are within us, and our bodies explode. We are 'Ali, and his right hand. You can see Hussein's courage in our faces. We have proof - the south is ours. These enemies turned out to be as light as cardboard. Bush knows it. Beirut remains dangerous for the Marines. Our proof is here, They left in shame. Our people sail the seas of martyrdom. A revolution of stone… It doesn't matter how many weapons they bring. We are the saw and they are the trees. Who says we are afraid of the war?
