Hamas Official Talal Nassar Criticizes Muslims Who Offered Condolences To Israel Following Mount Meron Disaster: They Are Despicable Accomplices In The Occupation Of Our Lands; The Zionists Must Pay For Their Presence On Our Land

Hamas official and political analyst Talal Nassar criticized Muslims who offered their condolences to Israel after dozens were killed and over 100 were injured due to severe overcrowding at a gathering at the religious site of Mount Meron in late April. He made his remarks in an interview that aired on the Arabic language Channel 9 (Turkey) on April 30, 2021. Nassar said that such people are accomplices in the occupation of Palestinian lands, that they are despicable, and they have abandoned their religion, conscience, and humanity. He shared his hope that no Zionist will remain on the lands occupied in 1948, and that "they must leave in humiliation." Nassar said that the Zionists must pay for their continued presence on Palestinian land, in "Haifa, Tiberias, Jerusalem, Lod, Ramle, Beersheba, Bayt Daras, and anywhere."

Interviewer: "Mr. Talal..."

Talal Nassar: "[The Quran says:] 'And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, when you threw, but it was Allah who threw.' These people who came here and settled on this land are thieves, murderers, and criminals. Those who offer them their condolences are their accomplices in the occupation of our land. I believe that those who drove out our fathers and grandfathers from these lands [deserve] all the possible curses. I hope to see Palestine, which was occupied in 1948, without a single Zionist — either they will be buried underground or they leave, Allah willing.

"Only despicable people and gamblers would offer them their condolences. The only people who would offer their condolences to those who stole our lands are people who abandoned their religion, their conscience, and their humanity. They are murderers! Does Allah tell us to send our condolences to them? To negotiated with them? To live under their boot? Allah says [in the Quran]: 'Fight them. Allah will punish them by your hands, and will disgrace them, and give you victory over them, and satisfy the breasts of a believing people.'

"The important thing is that they must pay for their continued presence on our land, in Haifa, Tiberias, Jerusalem, Lod, Ramle, Beersheba, Bayt Daras, and anywhere. They must leave in humiliation, Allah willing. To those who think that the occupation is strong, we say that the occupation, and you — as well as you who think so — is weaker than a spiderweb."
