During his February 7, 2025 Friday sermon in Tehran, Imam Kazem Seddighi stated that Iran had previously attempted negotiations with America, but the Iranian negotiators were humiliated. Worshipers attending the sermon chanted against negotiations with America and in opposition to Iranian Vice President and former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. They also chanted, “Death to America!” The sermon was aired on IRINN TV (Iran).

Kazem Seddighi: "Inshallah, this will (not) come to be. We tried before to negotiate with America. The Iranian negotiators were humiliated, and things only got worse after the negotiations. After this experience we had, I do not know why they are not being careful. Why are they not using discretion in the statements they make? I, too..."
