Friday Sermon by Mahmoud Habbash, Advisor to PA President Abbas: Anybody Who Accepts the Deal of the Century Will Pay the Price for Treason; We Would Rather Die Than Accept the Deal

Mahmoud Habbash, an advisor to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, said in a Friday, January 24, 2020 sermon that aired on Palestine TV that the Palestinians, the Arabs, and the Muslims will never the Deal of the Century, which he referred to as the "Deal of Shame", the "Deal of Disgrace," and the "Filth of the Century." He said that the deal is a path that leads to treason and that anyone who accepts the deal will pay the price for that treason. Habbash told his audience that the Palestinians have an option to disgrace themselves by accepting the deal, or an option to "fight until [their] neck[s] are chopped off" as the Prophet Muhammad had sworn to fight the infidels. He added that the Palestinians welcome death for the sake of Allah and that they would willingly die if that is the price for rejecting the Trump peace plan.

Mahmoud Habbash: "We will never accept the 'Deal of Shame.' We will never accept Trump's peace deal. We will never accept the so-called 'Deal of the Century,' or rather, the 'Slap of the Century' the 'Disgrace of the Century,' the 'Filth of the Century.' We will never accept it. The Arabs and the Muslims will never accept it. Let me tell you, there will not be a single Arab that can accept it. If anyone accepts [the Trump peace plan] – that person will pay the price for that. He will pay a price for accepting it. He will pay a price for the treason. This deal is a path that leads to treason.

"We have two options. Either we disgrace and humiliate ourselves and accept eternal shame, or we say, as our beloved Prophet Muhammad said: 'I will fight them until my neck is chopped off.' Or in other words, 'Until my head falls onto my breast and I die.' 'Until my neck is chopped off' is an analogy for death. We are faced with these two options.

"Maybe we – as a nation – are in a state of weakness, but the weak should at least refrain from signing off on their own deaths. Die, but at least do it standing tall like a tree. Die! Death will come, sooner or later. Nobody can either delay or expedite death. So die nobly and honorably, with your head high! Die as a man, because you will die anyway.

"If the price [for rejecting the deal] is death, then bring it on! We welcome death for the sake of Allah. If death is the price we have to pay for dignity, honor, sovereignty, and esteem – then we would welcome death."
