On December 27, 2024, Hindustan Times (India) published a video report containing viral footage reportedly showing China's new “Tailless” 6th-gen stealth jets. The report also contained speculation about China's intentions vis-à-vis Taiwan.

Notably, Chinese stealth fighters constitute a strategic threat to India, with the Indian media outlet NDTV having stated: “The large tailless fighter is believed to be a strike aircraft. Its unconventional design may make the new stealth fighter jet difficult, if not impossible, to detect using conventional radars. When inducted, these Chinese stealth fighter jets would likely become an unprecedented threat along India's frontiers. India does not have a stealth fighter jet yet.”

Hindustan Times Caption:  "24 hours, two masterpieces: new giants debut in the sky. China unveils two advanced stealth jets in 24 hours. Dragon's stealth fighter program hits a whole new level. Mysterious videos show tailless 6th gen fighter. China's diamond-shaped fighter stuns world. China's military breakthrough worries Taiwan and West.

"Mystery plan with triangular tailless design spotted in broad daylight: reports. The first, diamond-shaped, tailless design features three air intakes, two lateral and one top. The second, slightly smaller, has a more conventional look and lacks vertical stabilizers. Unconfirmed reports suggest China's second next-gen fighter could be from Shenyang Corp. However, the first, larger design is believed to be from the rival Chengdu Corporation.

"China flexes air defence. The spotting comes after a Dec airshow teased a new 6th-gen fighter jet, dubbed 'baidi.' 'Baidi' was called a jet capable of supersonic flight, with space flight potential. Beijing is yet to confirm the new fighter jet but experts are calling it a major 'upgrade.'

"Is China Readying for Taiwan? Experts have warned against pitting the new jet against the U.S.' upcoming 6th-gen fighter. U.S.' new jet is expected to feature advanced stealth capabilities, drone-control ability. On Dec 10, Taiwan said it had detected 47 Chinese military jets around the island. Per the ministry, 16 aircraft even crossed Taiwan Strait to enter its defined airspace. Apart from aircraft, the Defense Ministry said it also detected 12 warships. According to Taiwan, this was one of China's biggest-ever military deployments. China already has nearly 90 navy, coast guard ships near Taiwan and surrounding areas: Reuters."
