Former Lebanese MP Mustapha Allouch said that Hizbullah constitutes an existential threat to Lebanon because it is a "militant party," which considers itself to be a legion in the IRGC. Allouch, Deputy Chairman of the Future Movement, made his remarks in an interview that aired on Jadeed TV (Lebanon) on July 3, 2021. He said that unlike his disagreement with the Free Patriotic Movement which is only about local issues, Hizbullah's interests lie beyond Lebanon. Allouch said that Hizbullah is loyal to the concept of the Rule of the Jurisprudent, it has destroyed Lebanon by going to fight in Syria, and that it is using the people of Lebanon for Iranian interests against Lebanon. He further said that Hizbullah's Secretary-General should stand trial for "leading an armed militia that belongs to a foreign country." For more information about Mustapha Allouch, see MEMRI TV clips nos. 7455, 6189, and 3200.

Interviewer: "Which do you consider to be more dangerous to Lebanon – Hizbullah or the Free Patriotic Movement?"

Mustapha Allouch: "Hizbullah. Absolutely."

Interviewer: "Why?"

Allouch: "Because Hizbullah is a militant party, which subscribes to a cause that transcends borders, and considers itself to be a legion in the IRGC. On a strategic level, Hizbullah believes that the enterprise of the Rule of the Jurisprudence should gain dominance. They believe that this serves the interests of humanity, but I am a sworn enemy of any theocratic enterprise of the kind they uphold..."

Interviewer: "Do you consider Hizbullah to be your enemy? [Do you consider] the Free Patriotic Movement to be your rival and Hizbullah your enemy?"

Allouch: "I have disagreements with the FPM about local issues relating to government. I say this objectively. I am not saying who is right and who is wrong. We have a dispute over the government. With Hizbullah, however, the problem is existential. The Lebanese entity is under threat by Hizbullah, not just because of its presence in Lebanon, but because it goes beyond Lebanon's borders, and because it subscribes to the empire of the Rule of the Jurisprudent.

"Hizbullah destroyed Lebanon by going [to fight] in Syria. Even with regard to its virtual confrontation with Israel..."

Interviewer: "Why virtual? There were martyrs."

Allouch: "Using the people of this country for Iran's interest is treason against Lebanon.

[...]

"One war can destroy the economy more than all the thieves in this country."

[...]

Interviewer: "Do you sympathize with [Sunni fundamentalist] Ahmed Al-Assir?"

Allouch: "I do not."

Interviewer: "Do you sympathize with Hizbullah?"

Allouch: "Absolutely not. When I compare the two of them, the damage caused by Al-Assir does not amount to 1% of that caused by Hizbullah."

Interviewer: "If you compare both [organizations] this way, do you have the courage to call for the imprisonment of Hizbullah's Secretary-General?"

Allouch: "I support placing him on trial."

Interviewer: "Placing Nasrallah on trial? For what?"

Allouch: "He should stand trial for leading an armed militia that belongs to a foreign country."
