Former Iranian diplomat Amir Mousavi said on an October 29, 2022 show that aired on Mayadeen TV (Lebanon) that he thinks that Iran will soon "retaliate" against the countries he claimed had instigated the anti-regime riots in Iran. He said that actions will be taken "directly or indirectly" to "discipline" the Americans, British, Zionists, and Saudis for "toying" with Iran's national security. Mousavi further said that Iraqi Kurdistan will also face retaliation.

Amir Mousavi: "I think that Iran will proceed to the phase of retaliation.

"Some actions may be taken to discipline these countries, whether directly or indirectly. This is an indication that Iran has decided to deal with the [countries] that instigating riots in Iran and toying with Iran's national security. I believe that from now on, they will be dealt with."

Interviewer: "With the Americans, British, Saudis, and Israelis?"

Mousavi: "Yes, the Americans, the Zionists, and the Saudis. All those you've mentioned."

Interviewer: "Even with Iraqi Kurdistan?"

Mousavi: "Yes. Erbil as well, unfortunately. I said this in the media, and that was when I was banned from Iraqi Media... I warned my Kurdish brothers, when the Zionist Mossad station in Erbil was hit, that there were two additional stations. I said that we hoped our brothers in Kurdistan would take care of this, before Iran would have to take actions against them. They viewed this as a threat, but it was a warning, really."
