In a December 29, 2022 address that aired on Palestine TV, Fatah Deputy Chairman Mahmoud Al-Aloul commemorated several Palestinian terrorists and militants, saying that they are "the martyrs of the Palestinian people everywhere." He assured the mother of Nasr Abu Hmeid, a leader of Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade who recently died of cancer in an Israeli prison, that although his body is in Israeli custody, he remains in the hearts, minds, and conscience of the Palestinian people. Al-Aloul also praised several Palestinian "martyrs."

The most notable terrorists mentioned by Al-Aloul are: Muhammad Kamel Al-Jaabari, who shot and killed an Israeli man near Kiryat Arba in October 2022; Uday Tamimi, who shot and killed an Israeli soldier near Jerusalem in October 2022; Diaa Hamarsheh, the perpetrator of the March 2022 Bnei Brak shooting that left five Israelis dead; Raad Hazem, the perpetrator of the April 2022 shooting in Tel Aviv in which three people were killed and six were injured; Palestinian Health Ministry official and Fatah member Dr. Abdullah Abu Tin, who was killed in an October 2022 firefight with Israeli forces; Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades commander Nayef Abu Sharkh; Anan Subh, who killed Rabbi Meir Hai in 2009; and Marwan Zalloum, who participated in an attack in 2002 in which four Israelis were killed. Mahmoud Al-Aloul: "We have no other way but to be loyal to the martyrs of our march. We say to the mother of [recently-deceased terrorist Naser Abu Hmeid]: Umm Naser, they are holding on to his body, as well as the bodies of many of our martyrs. Yes, they are holding on to it [in Israel], but you should know where he really is – he is in our hearts, in our minds, and in our conscience, and he will remain so, dear Umm Naser. We will remain loyal to this enormous convoy of martyrs. We will remember them by mentioning just some of our beloved ones: Muhammed Kamel Al-Jaabari..."

Crowd: "Uday Tamimi..."

Al-Aloul: "I was just about to mention him. Jawad and Zafer Rimawi, Uday Tamimi... The martyrs of Silwad and Al-Mughayyir...

"Diaa Hamarsheh, Raad and Abd Al-Rahman Hazem, Muhammad and Muhannad Mutair... Abdullah Abu Tin...

"Daoud Al-Zubeidi... Ibrahim Al-Nabulsi... [Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades commander] Nayef Abu Sharkh... And Anan Subh... They are many, of course, and by mentioning the prominent ones – including the beloved Marwan Zalloum...

"All of them are the martyrs of the Palestinian people everywhere – in the cities, the countryside, and the refugee camps."
